ShadowPass

Is my real name visible to other participants?

Last updated on

No. On ShadowPass, your legal name and your email are never public. Only your dancer name and, if you've added one, your crew appear on your profile, in the rankings and in participant lists.

Who sees what?

Other dancers and the public

The organizers of an event you're registered for

The organizers of events you're not registered for

They see strictly the same thing as the general public: dancer name + crew only.

Why this choice? The dancer name and the crew are the cultural identity recognized within the dance scene โ€” it's what circulates on stage and in the battles. The legal name is of no interest to other dancers.

What about public rankings?

The national ranking, the rankings by dance category and the team ranking never display a legal name. If you find your real name displayed publicly on ShadowPass, it's a bug: report it immediately to support.

Changing what's visible

You can change your dancer name, your photo and the visible elements of your profile at any time from your settings. Your crew is entered with each registration: just enter the new one next time you register.

Special cases: in the event of a dispute (fraud, report, contested result), organizers and the ShadowPass team may need to consult your legal identity for verification, in strict compliance with the GDPR.
