A category is a type of registration: dancers pick theirs when registering. It is then used to split participants into running-order groups and to build brackets.
Create a category
In the event's management area, open "Categories", then "Add", and fill in:
- Name, for example "Breaking 1vs1";
- Dance style: it sets which ranking the points count towards;
- Format: from 1 vs 1 to 5 vs 5. Above 1 vs 1, registration is done as a team;
- Age group: Adults or Kids (points in Kids categories are halved);
- Price (0 = free) and number of spots (empty = unlimited).

Open and close registration
Each category has an Open / Closed switch. Registration also closes automatically when you start a bracket.
The number of categories and participants depends on your event's plan. To delete a
category that already has entrants, cancel their registrations first.
